Jon 3:1-5, 10
Ps 25:4-5, 6-7, 8-9
1 Cor 7:29-31
Mk 1:14-2
The Old Testament’s prophet Jonah was called by God to warn the people of Nineveh to change their ways. Surprisingly, the people listened. They fasted and turned their lives back to God. In St. Mark’s Gospel 1:14-20, we are also called to REPENT…CHANGE, and live the Gospel. Jesus admonishes the Jewish people to return to God in faith. He then calls Peter and Andrew to follow him as he’ll make them fishers of men.
Faith led the apostles; how much more we are called today, in faith, to love God and neighbor? God’s love is unconditional and eternal. Lord God, increase my faith and love for You as I encounter You in all those I meet today. Amen.
