Sisters Place, a collaborative endeavor of the Tri-Diocesan Leadership Conference in Western PA, was formed in 1992 to address the needs of homeless families. For over 30 years, the ministry continued to be sponsored by over a dozen religious congregations, including ours.
On Sunday, November 17, dozens of women religious from the sponsoring congregations gathered to celebrate the success of Sisters Place, to remember the energy of our initial collaboration, and to update the Sisters on the decision to move Sisters Place to Auberle, a Pittsburgh Diocesan sponsored Catholic corporation, which has the resources in place to continue this vital ministry.
We are grateful to Sr. Maria Kruszewski, who has represented our province for many, many years at the member meetings. A beautiful ceremony of completion was celebrated by those present, and lots of old friendships were renewed during the gathering.
