Wednesday Reflection - March 18, 2026

March 18, 2026

Dear Friends,

Here we are in the fourth week of Lent and right in the middle of two great Feast Days – Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17th) and Saint Joseph’s Day (March 19th). There are so many traditions celebrated on those two days by various ethnic groups. No matter what your Saint preference is, remember the spirit with which they lived their lives. It will help you on your journey.

Speaking of how they lived their lives, how are you doing with your Lenten journey? Each day of the journey can hold its challenges, and yet we move on, hopefully supported by those around us. While preparing for Mass this Sunday, I was reflecting on my journey and thinking of what I could share with you. Then Mass began, and at the end they sang a song by Rory Cooney, “Jerusalem My Destiny." I share with you the words as they spoke so strongly to my soul that I stayed after Mass to copy them. Here you go:

(Refrain) I have fixed my eyes on your hills, Jerusalem, my destiny!

Though I cannot see the end for me, I cannot turn away.

We have set our hearts on the way; this journey is our destiny.

Let no one walk alone. The journey makes us one.

Verse 1: See, I leave the past behind;

A new land calls to me.

Here, among you now, I find

a glimpse of what might be. (Refrain)

So much of the song spoke of our journey through Lent. It spoke to me of these 3 things. Fix your eyes on the destination. Keep walking even when the road is unclear. Walk together, because no one reaches Jerusalem alone. How many times do we get distracted while we are trying to develop our relationship with God, making our life a living Lent? What do you do to stay focused or redirect yourself? Can you keep walking? Do you ever get that sense of self-doubt? Does faith seem to be a fading virtue? Again, what tools do you use to get back on track? We are never alone. When all seems to be at a loss, do you reach out to those around you for encouragement and support? We do not do this alone.

If you get a chance to listen to the song this week, I think you may be happily surprised at how it can resonate with your soul and journey. Blessings as you continue your Journey to Easter.

Till next week,

Sister T
