Wednesday Reflection - January 15, 2025

January 15, 2025

Dear Friends,

We are now entering into the season of Ordinary Time in the liturgical year, but we would be remiss if we forgot all the Extra-Ordinary events that have taken place these past few weeks. The wonderful Solemnity of Christmas, the Incarnation; the New Year –with the celebration of the Church’s Jubilee Year; my wonderful journey to Rome for a mini renewal with Sisters around the Congregation; the Feast of the Holy Family, the Feast of the Epiphany, and the Baptism of Jesus, whew!

Wow, I did not realize how long the list was, and now… it is time to catch our breath! The seasons of nature and the Church know we need some down time. Hopefully, in the quiet moments of our day we can spend time thanking God for all the blessings we have received and those that are to come.

Normally, we tend to move from one event to another without truly appreciating it. Ordinary Time allows us to stop and consider all the extraordinary gifts that have come our way. Stopping allows us to recognize even the smallest blessing. I know this for a fact through the time I spent with our Sisters in Rome. While there, we had time to stop and reflect, to pray together and to enjoy just being with one another. It helps one realize that blessings come in all sorts of sizes and shapes.

During this coming week take the time to revisit the past events you’ve experienced and thank God for all that has been, even if there have been some challenges, as well as all that is to come. Don’t let the Extra-Ordinary slip away without appreciating all it has to offer you. God fills our life with wonder – Enjoy it!

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
