Feb. 20: Wednesday Reflection

February 20, 2019

Dear Friends,

I must admit that I enjoy finding great quotes on my Facebook page that I can share with you, as many of them shed some light on ideas that I am having for a reflection.

So here is a quote that I recently saw on Facebook: “If you can trust a puzzle company to make sure every piece is in the box to complete the puzzle, then why can’t you trust God that every piece of your life is there for a reason” (Author unknown). This quote lead to the following reflection:

As I was preparing to write my reflection, I looked out my window and saw several deer enjoying their breakfast. I smiled as I am always grateful to see them. They speak to me of God’s presence in my life. Where I live now on Long Island, I think we have a herd so they are always around. Before this, I didn’t get to see deer that regularly, but they always reminded me that God is present in my life and taking care of me no matter what.

So what do I now do with their constant presence? The more I thought about it the more I came up with the same conclusion: God has always been there! But, have I recognized His presence? Did I trust that EVERY piece of my life is there for a reason? I began to look over my life and realized there were times I wasn’t sure that God was still with me. How foolish that seems now as I look back, but at the moment, the pain was real. I’m grateful for times like this that give me a chance to reflect back and think over all that has happened in my life. Each piece is a part of the big picture.

What about you? Do you trust that God has a plan for you and all the pieces will fit together? I am sure you can come up with different times in your life that you were hurting. Do you take the pause that refreshes the soul and helps you continue on your journey? Sometimes when we are going through something it is hard to be objective. Time and support from loved ones can be helpful. What is really important is to remember the part of the quote that reminds us “…every piece of your life is there for a reason.” Make it a great week.

Till next week,
Sister Theresita
