Feb. 28: Wednesday reflection

February 28, 2018

Dear Friends,

Ah, we are now in the second week of Lent. Time does go by quickly. Recently, I found this quote from Caroline Myss that I would like to share with you:

"The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind."

The quote rings so true for me, especially since we are getting deeper into Lent. Have I had the chance to spend the time I want in prayer? Have I been able to keep up with my Lenten resolutions? How has my journey been so far? Have I been able to silence my mind?

The quote spoke to me of the power of healing and wisdom that is within us. The trick is that we need to spend time in silence. Sometimes things happen in our lives and we are not sure we can heal from them. Yet, silence brings us to that place. Can you name some of the challenges you have had to face recently? Are you stuck in that place?

Lent is a great season to put aside the time we need to deepen our relationship with God. We can forget that God has given us all that we need to become our best self.

"The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind."

What is important is that each of us learns how to silence the mind. Perhaps, silencing the mind is the hardest thing for us to do. For some of us, it may mean journaling, some extra reading, and quiet time away from the noise of the day. It may mean getting up earlier or staying up later to have alone time.

What is really important is that we take the time to reflect on Caroline Myss' quote and find ways to silence our racing thoughts so the soul may heal. I know that this quote will give me a lot to think about this coming week. God bless.

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
