Complications from knee-replacement surgery in 2016 launched our Sr. Mary Bernard Wiecezak into a four-year struggle through multiple surgeries, infections, and extreme pain. She reflects on this experience in a recent article published in Pulse, an online publication launched in 2008 by the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefoire Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Sr. Mary Bernard writes, “Infection set in just four days after my surgery. Oral antibiotics gave me a sense of waiting in light. How wrong I was!”
On her way to recovery now, Sr. Mary Bernard shares about moving through the darkness of pain and into the light of a brighter future.
