Mark 14:12-16, 22-26
When Jesus sits with his disciples at the Last Supper, the apostles may have thought that this meal would be like others they had shared at the lakeside or with Peter's mother-in-law or along the countryside when bread and fish were blessed and shared.
In this meal, the last one Jesus will have with his disciples, Jesus says words that he has not said before:
This is My body and This is My Blood. I am offering Myself, My body and My blood for you. You will see shortly that I am offering my life for you.
I am breaking it here so you can see and hear and hopefully feel and believe that my life is a sharing and an invitation for each of you to share with Me in this outpouring of the Father's love for all people. Take, eat, and share: today and tomorrow and the next day as well, wherever another is in need of love or hope or comfort or healing.
Share your body and perhaps your blood for love to dominate our world of terror, fear, pain and loneliness as my disciples.
Be Eucharist for One Another!
