I don’t get it! One minute the young man runs to Jesus to find out how he can get to heaven and the next he is leaving sad. He keeps all the Commandments, but when Jesus invites him to give up everything, he has a hard time accepting it.
Taking a closer look into the story and my own life, I find I’m not much different. I enjoy my comforts, my freedom, my time and the money I have, to get the things I want. So …what’s my response? Will I go away sad, because it’s too hard to accept Jesus’ invitation…. or am I ready to give it all up for love and the promise Jesus made to give a hundred-fold to those who willing to become disciples.
