Wow! Here we are, already into the first week of the New Year and celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany. I asked Webster’s Dictionary what the word epiphany meant, and this is the definition I liked best: and illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure. I wonder if that is what the Wise Men felt like when they came to the stable at Bethlehem? It definitely was a grand discovery!
As I was thinking about this, I received a text that goes as follows. There is no credit given, even though people have tried hard to find its origin. It made me chuckle and think at the same time, here goes:
Good morning and Welcome to Flight 2023. We are getting prepared to take off into a New Year.
Please make sure your Positive Attitude and Gratitude are secured and locked in the upright position.
All self-destruct devices: pity, anger, selfishness, pride, and resentment, should be turned off at this time. All negativity, hurt, and discouragement should be put away.
Should you lose your Positive Attitude under pressure during this flight, reach up and pull down a prayer. Prayers will automatically be activated by Faith. Once your Faith is activated, you can assist other passengers who are of little Faith.
There will be not baggage allowed on this flight.
God, our Captain, has cleared us for take-off. Destination – GREATNESS!
Wishing you a New Year filled with new Hope, new Joy, and new Beginnings! Stay Blessed!
Sound familiar? Most of us have taken a flight once or twice, and so this is fun and familiar take on those pre-flight instructions we have all heard. Thank God for creative people!
We all know that we need to prepare for a flight. So it is as we enter into a New Year. Resolutions have been made and perhaps even broken by now, but there is always hope. God loves us at our best and at our worst. All we have to do as we begin each day is recite that little quote, and we can start the day off with the right flight plans!
I suggest that you copy this quote and recite it daily. I bet in no time at all, you will be happily flying along on your journey. My prayer is that your year be filled with many new beginnings, leaving all baggage behind! Happy Feast of Discovery!
Till next week, this is your co-pilot for Flight 2023 speaking,
Sister Theresita
