Mark 6:30-34
The Apostles have returned and are sharing with Jesus all that they did and taught. In the excitement of the moment, Jesus invites them to go away with him to a quiet place to rest. Jesus surely realized (despite their excitement) that they needed some R/R time.
How often we are encouraged to do the same? Amid our busy schedules, a hard day of work, endless decisions to make, as well as caring for and serving others, we need to go to a quiet place to rest, relax, and reflect. Maybe like in today’s Gospel, the plan doesn’t work out because the crowd arrives before him. It’s important in situations like this that we need to remember the importance of Jesus’ invitation …” Come away to quiet place to rest and reflect, because these are the times when we find the strength and inspiration to live our lives with passion and joy.
