Gospel Reflection: September 22, 2024 – 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Mk 9:30-37
All of us are called by God to BE…We are loved into being to BE LOVE to all those we meet. This higher calling couples with our human inadequacy and Jesus knows and asks what the Apostles are arguing about along the way. Who’s the greatest among them adds to their unwillingness to respond to Jesus. We are weak, self-centered, egoists whom Jesus loves in spite of ourselves.
So Jesus places a child in front of them and espouses childlike behavior and service as the keys to receiving Jesus and His Father. Trusting that God sustains our lives, may we spread God’s Kingdom this week through love and service for all we might encounter.
