Wednesday Reflection - June 25, 2025

June 25, 2025

Dear Friends,

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

This was the first reading on Monday, and it was very timely for me. As of June 30th, I will be leaving the Parish of Saints Philip and James and moving on to continue doing retreat work. Abraham was 75 and I am 77, pretty close. I guess age doesn’t matter with God. It truly was interesting how that reading came about right before I am being called to move to a different Ministry (Country so to say)

Although my family situation is not like his I must believe that God will bless me and make me a blessing to others. When God calls it can be to a step forward as well as to a circling inward towards growth. Change is not always easy, but God provides us with the tools when He calls.

Anxiety is not helpful; one needs to trust in God’s plan even if we can’t see it all. It is that famous word CONTROL, that trips us up. As humans we tend to want control in our lives. Somehow it is in letting go that we capture the true sense of control in our lives. Can we enter into God’s plan knowing that the only plan He has for us is a plan for the good. (Jeremiah 29:11)

During your prayer time, look at what God is calling you to. The movement may be as simple as forgiving someone, helping a neighbor you would rather not, or spending more time in prayer. God is calling all of us each day and we will be blessed but we need to listen so we can hear the call. “YOU TOO WILL BE A BLESSING”

Continue to enjoy your summer days, whatever shape they may take.

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
