Wednesday Reflection - August 12, 2025

August 13, 2025

Dear Friends,

Yesterday I came across this quote and thought it worth passing on. “Your life is not just about accomplishments; it is also about contributing to the well being of others. Once you understand and embrace that, you’ll be surrounded by opportunities to move forward in both areas, and the world will actually be better because it is better.”

I find that very powerful as, speaking for myself, I enjoy accomplishing something. Nothing is wrong with that. It’s how I get my reflection written, clean my room, do my laundry and cook. The issue comes when that is ALL I am interested in doing. What about the rest of the people I live with, work with, celebrate with? Are they part of my caring and compassion? Or am I concerned only with what I can accomplish?

You’ve heard these sayings “Two heads are better than one,” and “many hands make work light,” What does that really mean? Somehow the I becomes the WE and the world can become a better place. I love the song City of God. Together we can turn tears into dancing and turn the night into day! All of this can be accomplished if we have an attitude change as to what is important. What is important in my life. The secret is that we need to know we can only change ourselves and accepting others where they are at is where we begin.

So much more good can be accomplished if we work together to build up the Kingdom of God. We just need to check where our priorities lie and how we achieve our accomplishments. Sometimes we forget that we are gifted by God and so God is really accomplishing great things through us. Being grateful for what we have can sometimes be overshowed by thought of wanting more in our lives. I challenge you this week to acknowledge your gifts, thank God for them and remember how blessed you are.

Together we can Build that City of God but we do need to use all our gift and talents together. Have a great week naming your gifts, being grateful for them and thanking our God for placing you in this world and this time with what he has given you.

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
