December 3, 2025

Dear friends,

Advent, can you believe it? Sometimes I think that this liturgical season is one of the more forgotten ones. Although Advent and waiting involve a period of expectation and preparation for an upcoming event, I think it may the anticipation of Christmas parties, visits from friends and gifts from Santa. Somehow Jesus gets lost in the hustle and bustle.

Advent is an active time of waiting. Waiting for Jesus to be born, anticipation of Jeus’ return and the arrival of Christ into the hearts of believers today! It is a season of waiting with Hope and intentional preparation. Last week I spoke of Christmas as being a season. So it is with Advent, a special season of Hope.

How will you spend this Advent Season? There are so many books, pamphlets, videos etc. that can help you focus on your preparation of Jesus being born in you again in a new way helping you become that best version of yourself. To do this you/we need to spend a little more time in prayer rather than just partying, (Believe me I love to party!)

We have just started Advent; there is time to prepare for the Birth of Jesus again in our hearts. How will you do it? Make a simple plan, check it each day and pray your way to that Christmas morning so that the jot the Angels sang about will be yours. Prepare, wait, anticipate the coming of Jesus to you in a new way. Happy Advent!

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
