Wednesday Reflection - December 10, 2025

December 10, 2025

Dear Friends,

It's the second week in Advent, how are you doing in preparing for the coming of our Savior? On a recent retreat with a group of women, we went down a rabbit hole, (does that surprise you?) and shared about the busyness of this season. One of the retreatants said that a friend of hers told her it is important to give God the FIRST FRUITS of the day.

That’s a powerful statement, especially at this time of year when we can forget what we are preparing for. With our long ‘to accomplish lists’ racing through our minds when we first wake up, does God stand a chance of receiving the first fruits? I can’t answer that for you, but for me, there have been days.

Matthew Kelly has a book called “Slowing Down to the Speed of Joy”. In it, he speaks of how “busy” rules our lives. His words of wisdom were this “Jesus was never in a hurry!” Wow, did you ever think about that? Jesus was always present to the moment he was in, whether he was preaching, teaching, healing someone, journeying to the next place, or having fun with the children.

Are you truly present to this moment in time, this Advent, this Christmas? Only you can answer that. Only I can. There is still time left in Advent 2025 to prepare and give God the FIRST FRUITS of the day. From experience, it’s the best way to start your day. As you continue this Advent, may the stillness of the first waking moments lead you to a fruitful and blessed day.

Till next week,
Sister Theresita
