I know you may have heard it said, “You are JUST LIKE your mother, father, him, her!” The truth of the matter is that you are ‘a limited edition and there is no one like you!’ The question is, do you believe it? I like the thought that I am a limited edition. I don’t think the world can handle more than one of me!
The more I thought about the fact that each of us is a limited edition, I started to think about some saints, and then the Apostles, what a crew, they certainly were a limited edition! I wonder if they realized that who they were was not who they were to become. Sometimes we get stuck and don’t realize that we can become more, be the best self that God created us to be.
Comparing ourselves to others only dulls our uniqueness. Now you may be thinking, “I’ve heard it before- ‘this is who I am, and I can’t change it’, not the attitude I’m talking about.” That can be an excuse not to grow, to stay stuck. Are you afraid to move forward, to use your past mistakes and challenges to move you to the next page or chapter in your life? Where do you fit in this picture?
Have you taken the time to examine the gifts God has given you? It is important if you want to become and be that Limited Edition. To do that, we have to accept and be grateful for who you/we are and work through the daily challenges. Life is not a walk on easy street. There can be many trials, temptations, and challenges that could cause us to want to quit. That’s not what we are made for. We were made for greatness; that is what makes us a Limited Edition. And a greatness that doesn’t make us better than, but different. To be willing to help make this world a better place.
I once heard it said, “If you trust the manufacturer to give you all the pieces of a puzzle, why not trust God, our creator, to give us all the pieces we need to create our life’s puzzle. Scripture tells us that the plans God has for us are plans for the GOOD. Trust those plans and remember you are a Limited Edition in God’s eye and plan!
