Wednesday Reflection - September 30, 2026

September 30, 2026

Dear Friends,

Last week I shared with you my desire to “Dance to God’s Music.” Well, I’m still learning the steps. I may be a slow learner, but once I get it down, it becomes a part of me, even if I slip occasionally!

If we want to “Dance to God’s Music,” what are the necessary steps? Hopefully we have developed trust in the leader of the dance. That is really the first step. What comes next? We realize we need to speak the truth and become our true, authentic selves. As Matthew Kelly often says, “Be the best version of yourself.”

However, that can be very challenging because old tapes play in our heads – “you are not worth it;” “it’s impossible for you to do;” “just keep the status quo;” “be satisfied where you are;” “you are not enough.” Where do these tapes come from? I suggest they come from our childhood, a past relationship, the evil one, and perhaps even a well-meaning friend. Trust the leader of the dance to purge you of these thoughts as you enter into prayer and ask for grace.

The Sufis say, “For a raindrop, joy is entering the river.” What is your joy? Knowing that will help you with the next dance step of becoming your authentic self. There are many more steps to be learned as we continue to “Dance to God’s Music.” Each of us needs to take the time to learn the steps, as they are different for everyone. No matter the movement, the dance will be beautiful.

This week, practice the steps of knowing your joy, your passion, your gifts, and talents, especially where they meet the needs of our world. For then you will be “Dancing to God’s Music and moving towards your authentic self. Twist Away!

Till next week,
Sister Theresita
