Jan 6: Wednesday Reflection

January 6, 2021

Dear Friends,

Ah, can you believe that we are already in January? The new month in a new year in a different part of our journey has begun. The great thing about new beginnings is that we have a chance to look at the past and learn from it as we journey towards our future, always remaining in the present moment.

Last week, I spoke about taking our foot of the brake. If we do that, there is much to be learned. We can enter the New Year with hope, realizing how much God desires new beginnings for us. What are some of the ways we can do that? Perhaps, we need to look back at last year with some journaling. Writer and speaker Robin Sharma once said, “Keeping a journal is praying on paper.”

Here are some questions you may wish to journal or think about as you pray on paper:

  • What name would you give to last year’s journey?
  • How would you describe your year during a pandemic to others?
  • Who were the people who demonstrated wisdom during these challenging times?
  • How did the year influence your life’s journey?
  • What do you consider the most satisfying part of last year?

As we take stock of ourselves, one very important fact to remember is that we trust God with our lives and believe that He will always provide us with enough strength and beauty to keep us going forward. We have celebrated the feast of the Epiphany and now the Baptism of the Lord. Both speak of coming closer to God, seeing the light, and being satisfied, for the Lord always calls us who are thirsting for Him to be satisfied.

“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call to Him while he is near.” Isaiah 42:6

Till next week,

Sister Theresita
