Gospel Reflection: November 12, 2023 - 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 11, 2023

Matthew 25:1-13

What are you doing with your life while you wait to get to Heaven? It’s a great question! Are you sleep-walking through your days, meeting the minimum requirements to be considered “alive” or are you engaging your life with passion and the deep joy of walking with God in the here and now?

The ten virgins in today’s Gospel set out with their lamps to meet the Bridegroom, whom they were told was on His way. Not too shabby, right? However, only five of them had the wisdom to bring extra oil to keep their lamps burning brightly, no matter how long it would take the Bridegroom to arrive.

What is the “oil” you need to keep the lamp of your life burning brightly? Is it the “oil’ of gladness, compassion, awareness, courage, integrity? The good news is that you already have within you an abundant supply of oil! The better news is that when you allow Jesus to reach in and help you to discover it, you can truly light your world! Don’t delay…prepare today!!
