Gospel Reflection: November 19, 2023 – The Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 18, 2023

Mt 25:14-30

Today as we reflect on the Gospel, it gives us an opportunity to consider our talents. God may have given us special talents as writers, musicians, speakers, artists, or they may be as simple as being good listeners, thoughtful, generous, or good in cooking, knitting, painting, or gardening.

Whether the gifts are important or ordinary is not the point – it’s our ability to recognize, accept, appreciate, and use them for the betterment of others and ourselves. We need to double them, not just sit on our laurels or worse - not use them at all.

We are responsible for the gifts God has given us. The world today can surely use our gifts – regardless how important or ordinary to spread God’s Kingdom of love. Being the generous God that He is our efforts will surely be doubled.
