Litany of Waiting Prayer

Waiting is a deeply human experience, one that we struggle to accept. It draws painful attention to situations outside our control. Waiting is one of the hardest invitations of faith, yet it lies at the heart of our story. The people of Israel waited for generations for the promised Messiah, holding onto hope in the midst of longing. Mary herself waited in trust as God’s promise took flesh within her. We, too, wait. We wait for answers, for direction, for healing, for God’s movement in our lives, often in seasons that feel uncertain or painfully long. Scripture reminds us that waiting is never wasted; it is a place where faith is stretched, trust is refined, and God draws near in quiet, unseen ways. This Litany of Waiting is an invitation to bring every longing, every question, and every moment of expectation before Him, trusting that even here, He is at work. May this prayer be a reminder of our prayers for you in your seasons of waiting.

We are so grateful to Totus Tuus Treasures, who is generously offering printed Litany of Waiting Prayer cards in her Etsy shop. The proceeds of these cards will support our community, ministries and vocations.
