Mk 8:27-35
Imagine yourself as one of Jesus’ disciples setting out with Jesus for the villages of Caesarea Philippi or even setting out for your place of ministry or a family visit or just to the mall or neighborhood grocery store. And as you journey you carry within you your response to Jesus’ question to you from your morning meditation: Who do people say that I am?
What image or words do you take along with you on your daily journey? Comforter? Gentle Shepherd of Hope? Lord of Mercy and Compassion? Or one of Pope Francis’ favorite images, Jesus as the Living Tenderness of a Loving God?
Wherever you find yourself, you are there as one of Jesus’ disciples following Him in acceptance of His invitation to lose your life for the sake of the gospel. How will you respond to Jesus’ invitation to live your daily life as one of His faithful disciples? The building of the Kingdom of God’s Love depends upon your response.
