Eucharistic Revival Update - October

October 4, 2024

Dear Friends,

The Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis concluded over two months ago, but the momentum continues and the work of this third year of the National Eucharistic Revival, the Year of Mission, has just begun.

“Go, you are missioned!” That was the challenge given by Luis Cardinal Taigle at the closing liturgy of the Eucharistic Congress. Cardinal Tagle pointed out, “We have received the gift of Jesus. Let us go to proclaim Jesus jealously and joyfully for the life of the world.”  His words of dismissal urged us to take what we received and share it with others.

At every Eucharistic Liturgy we are given the Great Commission, but how often do we take it as a personal challenge? Each time we receive the?Eucharist, we are being nourished to live mission in a unique and personal way. The world needs our witness!  One way is through the Year of Mission’s Walk With One initiative (https://www.eucharisticrevival.org/walk-with-one) a heart to heart accompaniment program of the National Eucharistic Revival in which we are asked to step out of our comfort zone and evangelize on a one-on-one basis.  This website offers insights and concrete steps into this process of spiritual companionship. Materials are available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Are you willing to be an instrument of the Lord in the life of another person and share how you have personally encountered our Lord???Motivational Catholic speaker and EWTN host of Real Life Catholic, Chris Stefanik, encouraged the Congress participants to, “Let’s start to live in radical response to the best news ever.”  During this Year of Mission don’t be afraid to ask Jesus, “How are You calling me to live mission?”

For those who attended the?National?Eucharistic?Congress, the Revival team is requesting testimonials about your encounters with Jesus. What graces did you receive from Our Lord and how have you been transformed since? If you were unable to attend the Congress in person, many of the sessions are available for free streaming or modest cost at https://www.eucharisticcongress.org/streaming

Whether you were blessed to join in the? National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, attend the National Eucharistic Congress, or deepen your faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist through increased attendance at Mass or participation at Eucharistic Adoration in your local parish, the Year of Mission is your opportunity to take what you have received and share it with others.

Continued blessings in the Holy Family on our mutual Eucharistic missionary journey,

Sister Marcella Louise Wallowicz CSFN
